| The church was
established in April 1999.
The church is committed to the Reformed
Faith, contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
and summarised in its confessions. Its beliefs are determined by
Scripture alone; its ministry seeks to expound the Bible. It
recognises that God deals with men in covenant.
The church seeks to serve God's covenant
purposes in the city of Cardiff and, in particular, seeks to
witness the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ by whom alone we
can be saved.
Christianity was introduced to Britain by the
end of the second century. After the Reformation, the Church in
Wales suffered spiritual decline. Eventually, the first revival,
which began around 1735, gave rise to the Welsh Calvinistic
Methodist Connexion or the Presbyterian Church of Wales. At end
of the nineteenth century, the Presbyterian Church of Wales had
suffered from the influence of liberalism and the twentieth
century saw continued decline. In July 1968 a secession gave
rise to the Reformed Presbyterian Churches in Cardiff. The
Church in Llandaff traces its roots through this history.
In December 2000, the church at Llandaff
became part of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in England
and Wales. This Church is a member of the International
Conference of Reformed Churches and has fraternal links with
several other Reformed and Presbyterian Churches worldwide.
